We feel so blessed to be serving as missionaries for the Seminaries and Institutes Program for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Anchorage, Alaska. "Our purpose is to help the youth and young adults understand and rely on the teachings and Atonement of Jesus Christ, qualify for the blessings of the temple, and prepare themselves, their families, and others for eternal life with their Father in Heaven."

Tuesday nights are "Hike Nights" for the LDS "Young Single Adults" in Anchorage. Last Tuesday we went with this group to hike a section of the Turnagain Arm Trail around Potter Marsh just about 15 minutes south of the city. They are delightful kids: capable, clean and fun. It was a beautiful evening, and we completed the six-mile hike about 10:00 pm (still in full light). We had spectacular views of the mountains and water; along the way we saw a moose and a black bear!
